Human Architecture
On the mood: When architecture takes human form
Designing clothes through the lens of architecture. The inspiration for this collection is derived from unique structures that resemble human form. Spectacular buildings and sculptures inspired the silhouettes and lines for this collection. I used varying levels of opacity, fabric textures and densities to merge qualities of clothes with that of architecture.
The Process

Fabric Manipulation
To further this collection's theme, each look is composed of at least one of these hand made fabric manipuations. Each is meant to reflect a different facade.

Swirl pattern created by gathering fabric from under side in a bunch and hand tacking each gather.
Braided motif meant to mimic the way moss crawls up a building.
Fabric pleated in irregular patterns with green mesh integrated through out.
Similar to the black swirl manipulation, this pattern is created by twisting each gather of fabric from underneath, giving it a floral appearance.
